Detailed Itinerary of 4 Days Queen Elizabeth Safari

Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will be picked up from Kampala or Entebbe and begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. En route, stop at the Equator line in Kayabwe to take photos and enjoy the fun experiments demonstrating the Northern and Southern hemispheres. Continue to the Igongo Cultural Centre for lunch and a brief museum visit to learn about the Ankole people and their traditions. In the evening, arrive at Queen Elizabeth National Park, check into your lodge, and relax after the day’s journey. Accommodation options include Mweya Safari Lodge, Jacana Lodge, and Katara Lodge for luxury, Buffalo Safari Lodge and Bush Lodge for midrange, and Pumba Safari Lodge, Bush Lodge Tents, and Mweya Hostel for budget travelers. Meals provided on this day are lunch and dinner, and activities include transfer, Equator photography, and the cultural visit.

Day 2: Kasenyi Game Drive & Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise

Begin your day with breakfast before heading out on a morning game drive along the Kasenyi Plains. In a 4WD vehicle, you will have the chance to spot elephants, lions, buffaloes, leopards, Uganda kobs, topis, warthogs, hyenas, and a variety of birds over a 3–4 hour drive. After the game drive, return to your lodge for lunch and some rest. In the afternoon, enjoy a 2–3 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, where you can observe hippos, crocodiles, and hundreds of waterbirds along the riverbanks—perfect for photography and bird watching. Accommodation remains the same as Day 1, with meals provided as full board (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), and activities include the game drive, boat cruise, and bird watching.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Lake Katwe

After breakfast, depart for Kyambura Gorge for a morning chimpanzee trekking adventure. Following an initial briefing, trek through the gorge for 3–4 hours, spending about one hour observing and photographing the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. Along the way, you may spot other primates, birds, and enjoy the lush forest scenery. In the afternoon, there is an optional visit to Lake Katwe to witness traditional salt extraction and spot flamingos and other bird species. After a full day of wildlife encounters and cultural exploration, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay. Accommodation remains consistent with previous nights, and meals are full board.

Day 4: Ishasha Game Drive & Return to Kampala/Entebbe

Wake up early for a morning game drive in the Ishasha sector, famous for its tree-climbing lions. You may also see elephants, topis, buffaloes, and other wildlife in this scenic southern part of the park. After the game drive, begin the journey back to Kampala or Entebbe, stopping in Fort Portal for lunch en route. Expect to arrive in the evening, marking the end of your 4-day safari adventure. Meals for the day include breakfast and lunch, and activities consist of the morning game drive and wildlife viewing during the return journey.
