Early Morning: Transfer from Kigali to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your driver-guide will pick you up very early from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. After a short briefing, you will embark on a scenic 4–5-hour drive through Rwanda’s beautiful “land of a thousand hills” and cross into Uganda via the Katuna or Cyanika border post, depending on your assigned gorilla trekking sector. Enjoy breathtaking views of rural life, tea plantations, and the misty highlands leading to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to over half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Morning to Afternoon: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will register and attend a briefing conducted by experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. Afterward, join your group and venture deep into the forest on your gorilla trek. The search can take between 2 to 6 hours, depending on the movement of the gorilla family. Once you find them, spend a magical hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, and interact within their natural environment — a once-in-a-lifetime wildlife encounter.
Afternoon: Return to Kigali
